Venice Film Festival's Red Carpet of 2019

Venice's Film Festival is not just a simple cinematographic event, but also an international catwalk where elegance is the main character, present in different versions and styles, literally and figuratively. The whole world watches the Festival, especially since it has become, in the latest years, a pathway to the Oscars.

On the Red Carpet of the opening night of the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival, there have been many examples of elegance and style, as well as many extreme looks, worn also by style icons that left everyone in awe.

The first red carpet saw the actors of the movie "The Truth" by HirokazuKore’eda, starring Catherine Deneuve, Juliette Binoche and Ethan Hawke. However, at the beginning, the center of attention was taken by Alessandra Mastronardi: she was wearing Armani Privé, a black wide dress, open on the chest.

A combination of elegance and sexy-ness that saw its climax with the Victoria's Secret's Angels fashion show: Elsa Hosk, Candice Swanepoel, Martha Hunt, Barbara Palvin. All of them extraordinary and who managed to combine a sexy style with elegance in an incredible way.

It was then Iman's turn, Bowie's widow and legendary supermodel, that mesmerized the red carpet with a Valentino dress, blue with a white parrot pattern. The exact contrary of Stacy Martin's look, a baroque style draped Louis Vuitton dress.

Just like we've had many examples of elegance and style, there have also been many flops. The first and biggest one, who surprised everybody, was the one by Catherine Deneuve. The diva was in a black Jean-Paul Gaultier dress, very elegant, that was sadly ruined by a giant orange vest with feathers at the bottom, that she also wore lop-sidedly.

Next to her, Juliette Binoche wore a mermaid-style dress, but she identified a bit too much with the mermaid style, making her look a bit too much.
