Many world-renowned brands, such as the manufacturer Hogan, have come to an innovative solution to produce garments in large quantities and multiple fabrics, safeguarding the environment and consumption, this idea could revolutionize the way of seeing the production of clothing, footwear, accessories and in general the fashion universe. How?! With Upcycling, a very simple process that is gaining more and more notoriety. It is based on taking back an old product and giving it new life, easily misunderstood and associated with recycling, but it has nothing to do with the latter.
Very often the two solutions are associated, but they are two processes that are implemented with different purposes. Recycling has as its aim the "reuse" of a product, a fabric or a simple object in the same function for which it was designed or even with lesser value; Upcycling has as an end the shooting of an object or its material to give it different connotation and from there create a higher quality product. Therefore the deep difference between the two processes is that the one tries to save a product by now consumed; the other sees in the product a new investment from which to derive what more can be useful to the current market.
If you think that 80% of our wardrobe is unused: clothes bought or given never met our tastes, shoes with necklines or worn laces that sooner or later "we will bring to a shoemaker" and the accessories rarely worn for some event comes to the conclusion that upcycling is a real and tangible turning point for a better future!
There are two ways to perform a right upcycling method:
The Upcycling pre - consumer: consists in using waste fabric used to pack a garment and therefore not yet proposed to the consumer.
The Upcycling post - consumer: consists in using products already used in good condition that can be subjected to changes
Many designers and brands have embraced the project, among them Hogan, for valid reasons that bring an industry, such as fashion, among the most polluting in the world to find a profitable solution and in favor of sustainability. The advantages of this process:
Hogan can only deny those who do not believe in the functionality of an upcycled product, adding the design and iconic lines of the brand form a limited edition collection that is born from the historical archive of the brand and the circularity of materials, creating unexpected combinations on the new sneakers for the summer. The Sneakers Hogan Active One are just one of the witnesses to which the manufacturer entrusts the arduous task of spreading sustainable style. Made of fabrics and leathers from the Hogan archive they are different from each other, alternating in the catalog original models in limited series.
