Spring / Summer 2019 Trends: accessories and clothing

The real unknown factor of the various seasons in the field of fashion are the accessories that will be on trend and that will be the “must have”.

In practice, the hardest thing to do is answer these questions: What should I wear? And, which accessories should I match the clothing with?

Belt Bags

During Autumn / Winter 2018/2019 collections we have seen an unexpected comeback, that has imposed itself also in the spring / summer 2019 trend: belt-bags, commonly named as bum-bags. Belt bags seems to be the new must have accessory, they can be in different sizes, and many fashion brands, such as Gabriele Colangelo, Salvatore Ferragamo and Fendi, are in to them.

Accessories with chain details

According to Giambattista Valli and Sonia Rykiel, details in the spring/summer 2019 season, strictly in precious metals, gold or silver, and of a very voluminous size, bags and bijoux must have chained details.

Maxi glasses

Miu Miu and Marni have worked hard to impose a new style of glasses for this summer, which can be described with three adjectives: large, adorned and extravagant. A kind of 70s accessories revival.

Asymmetric Tops

Asymmetric tops although they belong to the year 2000, they have came back and are an obligatory choice for summer evenings. Balenciaga and Isabel Marant have bet a lot on this garment for this hot season.

Lingerie in lace

Lingerie in lace are a classic. Lace decorations are one of the most trendy details in this summer season, and we find great collections designed by Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham.

Belts with logo

Also the logo on the belt seems to have came back directly from the 2000s, and Chanel and Valentino have ready their products. Is it a nostalgia?

Trench Coats

A timeless classic that continues to be trendy year after year, decade after decade, is the trench coat, on which Burberry and Tom Ford have bet. This is a historical garment that will hardly ever be outclassed.

Coloured Suits

Finally, the serious and classic colours seem to be relegated to the past, as Etro, Tod's, Prabal Gurung and Salvatore Ferragamo have decided to structurally "impose" classic suits, jackets and trousers, in a kind of particular colours, such as blue, yellow, orange or pink.
